If brought close to death, Ed will temporarily regain his immortal body, but only if he chooses to protect those he’s fighting with. Before the effect wears off, Ed can choose to either replenish the health and energy of the entire party, save for himself, or help his comrades escape while staying behind. Once he has accomplished this task, the effect will wear off and the damage he had taken before the limit break will return. Healing or boosting spells will have no effect on him for the remainder of the battle.
